3. Purpose of the Manual

To provide a guide on how to request access to records held by Heidelquip (Pty) Ltd in accordance with PAIA.

4. Guide on How to Use PAIA

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has compiled a guide on how to exercise your rights under PAIA. This guide is available from the SAHRC website: www.sahrc.org.za

5. Records Available Without a Request

The following records are automatically available on our website and do not require a formal PAIA request:

  • Company profile
  • Services offered
  • Legal policies (Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Disclaimer, etc.)

6. Records Available on Request

Records that may be requested in terms of PAIA include:

  • Company registration documents
  • Financial records
  • Employment records
  • Client and supplier contracts
  • Internal policies and procedures

7. Request Procedure

To request access to a record, complete Form 2 (Request for Access to Record) and submit it to the Information Officer.

Requests must:

  • Be in writing
  • Provide sufficient detail to identify the record
  • Include proof of identity
  • State the form of access required

A request fee may be applicable.

8. Grounds for Refusal

Access to certain records may be refused on the following grounds:

  • Protection of personal information of third parties
  • Commercial confidentiality
  • Legal privilege
  • Safety and security of individuals

9. Remedies Available

If your request is denied, you may:

  • Lodge an internal appeal (if applicable)
  • Approach a court for relief
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator
